Hunting Games Reviews
Cabela’s Big
Game Hunter (Wii)
The
Wii version of
Cabela's Big Game Hunter works fairly well compared to its original counterpart in
the Xbox 360. The gameplay engages players to venture different lands,
meet fellow hunters and then you play mini-games of shooting different
sizes of varmints.
There are still
some drawbacks though in the gameplay that makes this game unworthy.
For one, there’s an adrenaline-based bullet
time which colors the environment in black and your target shines with
a bright yellow color, where’s the hunting
fun in that?
Moreover, the game
doesn’t give the player the freedom to choose the weapons to use in a
hunt. You get to unlock different types of
weapons, but you can never get to use them throughout the game unless
probably you fail in accomplishing a
successful hunt then you get the chance to use a weapon of a higher
class.
You are basically
given a rifle, crossbow and a duck call to be used for hunting. Your
dreams of playing a hunting game with various
weapons at your disposal will just remain a dream when you play Big
Game Hunter. It also strips of you one of the
joys in hunting, exploration. Instead of exploring an area, trying to
find the hiding place or habitats of animals,
you are easily provided with a map, where you can see an X mark
indicating the location of your targets. Following
a certain path towards the target is not exactly what hunting should be
like.
The Wii controls do
wonders with this game. Holding the controls gives you the feeling of
actually holding a rifle instead of analog
sticks, like that of the Xbox 360. Overall, if what you’re all after is
hunting down animals without wishing for
more weapons and exploring a land on your own without map, then you’ll
get to enjoy
Cabela's Big Game Hunter .

This is a great game. it is hard but easy at the same time. It is easy
to find the animals and where to go, but it is hard to shoot the animal
and get it down. |
|
There are fewer weapons... The game crashed on me on 2 or 3 occasions.
All-in-all, it's an "ok" game. |
|
It is a really cool game with amazing ways to set up your hunt. I
like the graphics and sounds. |
The grafics are very good in my opinion, but I've not seen many games.
It is super exciting especially after you get attacked by the bear for
the first time, you are always on edge after that for the next attack
by a big game animal.
If you like hunting this is the perfect game, watch it's price it seems
to extremely fluxuate. |
