Cabela’s African Safari
Weapons can be unlocked by getting the
following number of Hunter’s Points in African
Safari mode:
- .44 custom handgun – 5,000
- 12 gauge custom shotgun – 12,000
- .410 over/under custom shotgun –
15,000
- .300 custom rifle – 19,000
- .505 custom rifle – 25,000
- .243 custom rifle – 32,000
- .416 custom rifle – 40,000
When hunting, animals appear as dots (red,
yellow, or green). Around the dot is a
white circle, which is the animal's
awareness. To make the circle smaller you
must crouch, and while crouching move
forward slowly. Stop regularly to let the
circle go down faster.
If you make any sudden movements, walk in
water or other noisy terrain, or stand up,
the awareness circle will rapidly grow
larger. It is important to watch the
awareness circle because the animal you are
hunting may run away if it’s a zebra, kudu,
etc; or it may run toward you and attack if
it is a cheetah, rhino, wild dog, etc.
To determine if a dot is the animal you are
hunting or a dangerous predator you need to
know what each color represents. A green
dot signifies the animal(s) you are
currently hunting.
A yellow dot signifies that the animal is
harmless but not you current target/game. A
red dot signifies that the animal is
dangerous and will come toward you and
attack if you step inside their awareness
circle.
Cabela’s Alaskan
Adventure
In Adventure mode, go to the shooting range
in the first region and, at the 25 yard
target range, you will find a box of 12
shells. There are more hidden ammo box
throughout the levels!
When in the first region of Adventure mode,
go down to the shooting range. At the 25
yard target range there will be a box of
twelve shells. Watch throughout the levels
for more hidden ammo boxes.
Cabela’s Big Game Hunter
- X-Ray scope Get all the tags in a
level, and then play that area again in
Quick Hunt mode. Press X while using the
scope to see through the animals.
- Bonus hunters
Complete an area in career mode, save the
game and exit. Load the game and start a
new career to access a new hunter. A new
hunter is unlocked with each area
completed.
- Longer quick hunt mode
In quick hunt mode, once you shoot the
animal you are hunting, do not claim it.
You should do this if you want to hunt
shorter than in complete hunt mode, yet
longer than the normal quick hunt.
- Never get kicked out
When you get a violation for hunting a
non-game animal, just go to your trophy
room. When you return, you can shoot
anything you want. However, this must be
done after every violation.
- Find and kill animals faster
Enter a level, then hop on your vehicle and
go to the red dot that indicates an animal.
When you are close to the animal, hop off
and press R3 to equip your weapon and shoot
the animal. If you miss, keep tracking it
until you kill it.
Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts
- X-ray scope
Successfully complete all challenges and
open all charters in career mode to get an
X-ray mode when you zoom in on scopes.
- Easy money
Buy a gun that comes with expensive
ammunition. Sell all of the ammunition,
then sell the gun. You should get the money
for the gun and ammunition at full price
each, which is more than you paid for the
gun.
- Lighter weight to carry
Choose everything that you want for your
equipment, and do everything else based on
the game type. When you choose "Hunt",
press R2, choose the heaviest thing, and
press X. Then, do this repeatedly. When you
have taken out everything, put everything
back. When you run, it takes it down much
slower as if you have nothing.
- Rifle selection
When selecting your rifle in action zone,
it is best to get an automatic. You will be
able to shoot faster and will not get
attacked as much. Walk meter does not
decrease
After starting the hunt, walk up to a tree
or in the bushes. Press R2 then select the
tent. Press X. You will be told that you
cannot use this here. Keep pressing R2 and
X five or six times, then continue. Your
walk meter will not go down.
Playstation
3
All of the cheats that are
listed above with the Play Station 2 games will
work on the Play Station 3 as well. That’s
because very few new games were produced for
the Play Station 3 since the games developed
for Play Station 2 play on the PS3 only with
better graphics!
